Of course, Los Cabos is world-renowned for its deep-sea fishing and championship golf, but the activities don't stop there. Cabo is a year-'round playground, from eco-tours and desert excursions to horseback riding on the beach. You find every water sport under the sun on the tip of Baja. Both towns offer an abundance of fine dining and casual restaurants, cafés and "street stands." Nightlife can range from enjoying traditional Mariachi or Mexican treios to live jazz or "dancing 'til dawn."

Area attractions

Water sports: surfing, windsurfing, jet skiing, kayaking snorkeling, scuba diving, parasailing.

World-class fishing: big-game fishing, day or multi-day fishing trips, boat rentals, fishing guides.

Land activities: horseback riding, ATV tours, jeep tours, biking tours, hiking, beach walks

Dining and shopping: restaurants, cafés, bistros and taco stands offer everything from the best Baja shrimp and fish tacos to gourmet French, Italian and Japanese cuisine. Los Cabos boasts all the American conveniences including Costco, Home Depot, Wal-Mart and mini malls, as well as the traditional small shops and tiendas

Art and culture: art galleries, exhibits by local artists, annual jazz and music festivals, festival of San Lucas and San José, Mexican Independence Day celebration and much more.

Day trips: Cabo Pulmo (scuba and snorkeling over the region's only living reef), Todos Santos (a small, charming, authentic village with many restaurants and art galleries), La Paz (the capital of Baja Sur) and many small towns up and down the coast

Whale watching: In the winter, the incredible sight of gray whales breaching is a daily experience. You may even spot them from your patio at Villas de Oro, or if you like, you can take special whale-watching tours along the coast or to the Pacific Ocean lagoons where mothers give birth.

Of course, the list of things to do is endless and includes dining, shopping, sparkling nightlife, dancing and music. Or you can do nothing at all and enjoy the sound of the surf and the colors of the sunset. It's all here for you in Los Cabos and Villas de Oro.
